Morning Prayer – Sunday
June 14 – Proper 6, Year A
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus
Christ. Philippians 1:2
Let us confess
our sins against God and our neighbor.
Silence may be kept.
Most merciful
God,
we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what
we have done, and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as
ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us;
That we may
delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.
Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our
Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit
keep us in
eternal life. Amen.
Lord, open our lips. And our mouth shall proclaim your praise.
Glory to the
Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is
now, and will be for ever. Amen. Alleluia.
The earth is the Lord’s for he made it: Come let us adore him.
Jubilate Psalm 100
Be joyful in the Lord, all you lands; serve
the Lord with gladness and come before his presence with a song.
Know this: The Lord himself is God; he
himself has made us, and we are his; we are his people and the sheep of his
pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into
his courts with praise; give thanks to him and call upon his Name.
For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting;
and his faithfulness endures from age to age.
Psalm 116:1, 10-17
I love
the Lord, because he has
heard the voice of my supplication, because he has inclined his ear to me
whenever I called upon him.
How shall
I repay the Lord for all
the good things he has done for me?
I will
lift up the cup of salvation and call upon the Name of the Lord.
I will
fulfill my vows to the Lord in
the presence of all his people.
Precious
in the sight of the Lord is
the death of his servants.
O Lord, I am your servant; I am your
servant and the child of your handmaid;
you have freed me from my bonds.
I will
offer you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and call upon the Name of the Lord.
I will
fulfill my vows to the Lord in
the presence of all his people,
In the
courts of the Lord'S house, in
the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
Glory to
the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning,
is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
Matthew 9:35-10:8
Jesus went about all the cities
and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the good news of
the kingdom, and curing every disease and every sickness. When he saw the
crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless,
like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is
plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to
send out laborers into his harvest.”
Then Jesus summoned his twelve
disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and
to cure every disease and every sickness. These are the names of the twelve
apostles: first, Simon, also known as Peter, and his brother Andrew; James son
of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew
the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Cananaean,
and Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed him.
These twelve Jesus sent out with
the following instructions: “Go nowhere among the Gentiles, and enter no town
of the Samaritans, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As
you go, proclaim the good news, ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Cure the
sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. You received without
payment; give without payment.
The Word of the Lord. Thanks
be to God.
A Song of Praise Benedictus es, Domine
Glory to you,
Lord God of our fathers; you are worthy of praise; glory to you.
Glory to you for
the radiance of your holy Name; we will praise you and highly exalt you for ever.
Glory to you in
the splendor of your temple; on the throne of your majesty, glory to you.
Glory to you
seated between the Cherubim; we will praise you and highly exalt you for ever.
Glory to you
beholding the depths; in the high vault of heaven, glory to you.
Glory to you,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit; we will praise you and highly exalt you for ever.
The
Apostles' Creed
I believe in God,
the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth;
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born
of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died,
and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right
hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of
saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life
everlasting. Amen.
The Lord be with you. And also with you. Let us pray.
Our
Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever.
Amen.
Show us your mercy, O Lord; And
grant us your salvation.
Clothe your ministers with righteousness; Let
your people sing with joy.
Give peace, O Lord, in all the world; For only in you can we live in safety.
Lord, keep this nation under your care; And guide us in the way of justice and truth.
Let your way be known upon earth; Your
saving health among all nations.
Let not the needy, O Lord, be forgotten; Nor
the hope of the poor be taken away.
Create in us clean hearts, O God; And
sustain us with your Holy Spirit.
The Collect of the Day
Keep, O Lord, your household the
Church in your steadfast faith and love, that through your grace we may proclaim
your truth with boldness, and minister your justice with compassion; for the
sake of our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy
Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
A Collect for Sundays
O God, you make us glad with the weekly remembrance of the
glorious resurrection of your Son our Lord: Give us this day such blessing
through our worship of you, that the week to come may be spent in your favor;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
A Collect for Guidance
Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We
humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the
cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that
we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of
your faithful people is governed and sanctified: Receive our supplications and
prayers which we offer before you for all members of your holy Church, that in
their vocation and ministry they may truly and devoutly serve you; through our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
You may add your own intercessions and thanksgivings here.
Almighty
God, you have given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplication
to you; and you have promised through your well-beloved Son that when two
or three are gathered together in his Name you will be in the midst of them:
Fulfill now, O Lord, our desires and petitions as may be best for us; granting
us in this world knowledge of your truth, and in the age to come life
everlasting. Amen.
Let
us bless the Lord. Thanks be to God.
Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more
than we can ask or imagine: Glory to him from generation to generation in the
Church, and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen. Ephesians
